An independent Mac app, made by one person
SnipVault exists because three apps were doing one job on my Mac: a clipboard manager, a screenshot OCR tool, and a text expander.
Who makes it
SnipVault is built and supported by Diljit, an independent developer, and published by DPR Software Labs OPC Private Limited in Bangalore, India, the same small company behind Broomkit. No investors, no growth team. If you email support, the person who wrote the code reads it.
Why it exists
For years my menu bar held Paste for clipboard history, TextSniper for grabbing text off screenshots, and TextExpander for snippets. Three subscriptions, three shortcuts, three places to search. SnipVault folds them into one keyboard-first palette: press ⇧⌘V to find and paste anything you copied, ⇧⌘2 to snip text off any part of the screen, and type a :keyword to expand a snippet in any app.
How it treats your data
- Your vault is a database on your Mac. There is no SnipVault server and no account.
- Screenshot OCR runs on-device with Apple's Vision framework. Images are never uploaded.
- Password managers are ignored by default, and content that apps mark as concealed is never stored.
- Copied one-time codes and card numbers auto-expire from the vault after 60 seconds.
- Sync, where available, goes through your own iCloud account. Secrets never sync.
- You can export your entire vault at any time and take it with you.
How it is priced
Every plan has every feature. You can pay monthly, yearly, or once. After the trial, or if a subscription lapses, the app locks until a licence is active, but nothing you copied is ever deleted: you can export the vault at any time, and activating brings it all back.
